The COVID pandemic has touched everyone, including people living with HIV. Co-founder of The Institute of Many, Nic Dorward, spoke to the new president of the International AIDS Society, Professor Sharon Lewin, in the lead-up to World AIDS Day 2022.
They discuss the ongoing importance of a search for an HIV cure. The COVID pandemic has created challenges for HIV diagnosis and treatment in some parts of the world. COVID-related scientific advances, however, set the scene for huge gains in HIV diagnosis, treatment and cure.
We need to do better, and we will get there. I do think we will get there for both a cure and a vaccine.
