Summary
Inclusion Criteria
Participation requirements
Status
Observational/laboratory based study The leukapheresis study involves detailed investigation of white blood cells from HIV+ participants, aiming to characterise virus-containing cell populations, whether the virus is infectious and if latency-reversing agents can be used to activate the virus.
  • HIV+
  • plasma RNA < 50 copies/mL for > 3 years (either on or off ART)
Eligible participants attend 2-3 clinic visits before the leukapheresis procedure (including one education session). Leukapheresis involves taking large amounts of blood out of one vein, removing the white blood cells via an automated cell separator and transfusing the rest of the blood back into another vein. It takes 3-4 hours. Currently recruiting
